Welcome to The Black List Blog on Medium!

Hey there! Welcome to The Black List Blog (you might know us from the annual Black List or blcklst.com) which celebrates the art and craft of screenwriting, film history, and more. We’re thrilled to launch the blog on Medium along with The Awl, Pacific Standard, The Hairpin, and Femsplain!

The Black List Blog is the official blog of The Black List: this is where we share information about upcoming events (like #blacklistlive or monthly happy hours around the world), analyze trends film industry trends with data and infographics, and celebrate classic and contemporary films. We also write about current happenings at The Black List, whether that means reports from The Academy Awards or the Sundance Film Festival, providing an insider’s look at our screenwriting labs, or interviewing screenwriters who have found success on the site.

As Director of Community for the site, I’ll be doing much of the posting here, but you can also look forward to posts from our Director of Events, Meg Halpern, our Director of Data and Product, Terry Huang, our CTO, Dino Sijamic, and Franklin Leonard, our CEO and Founder. We’ll also be sharing thoughts from a variety of folks in the industry as a part of our Essentials series.

And…Go Into the Story will soon be joining us on Medium! We look forward to Scott Myers and the incredible GITS community making the switch to Medium — it’s a truly amazing resource for screenwriters at every level of their writing careers.
